Regarding COVID-19 and Thrombosis

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected by the recent outbreak of the new coronavirus.

We have received numerous inquiries regarding the relationship between the new coronavirus, thrombosis, and Nattokinase.
We have decided that it is necessary to provide information on the relationship between the new coronavirus, thrombosis, and Nattokinase through our website, and we have decided to post only objective information on our website.

As already reported in TV programs and newspapers, respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough are the most frequent symptoms of new coronavirus infection, it may cause inflammation of blood vessels and thrombosis.
Especially in severe cases, thrombosis (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary thromboembolism, cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction, and other arteriovenous thrombosis) occurs more frequently and is a cause of worsening systemic symptoms.

  1. Inhibitory effect on infection of new coronavirus:
    In a study conducted by Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, it was confirmed that proteolytic enzymes in natto extract decompose the receptor binding region (spike) of the virus, thereby inhibiting infection of cultured cells with the new coronavirus.

  2. Immune function improving effect:
    It has been confirmed that a single intake of 4,000 FU of Nattokinase enhances the activity of NK cells (natural killer cells), which is an indicator of the immune function of the human body.

  3. Antithrombotic effect:
    It has been confirmed that a single dose of 2,000 FU of Nattokinase has enhanced the fibrinolytic system and inhibited the coagulation system.

  4. Antithrombotic effect:
    Italian experts summarized health foods and nutritional supplements that may help prevent complications caused by COVID-19, and Nattokinase was introduced as one of them. In addition, the article 3. is cited in the report.
